Mr Howard Brydon joined University Hospitals of North Midlands​ in September 1998. He exclusively practices in cranial neurosurgery. Qualifying from Liverpool University he undertook specialist neurosurgical training in Birmingham. He also undertook a two year research post in London, studying how CSF proteins affect hydrocephalus shunt performance. His sub-specialist interests are in neuro-oncology and vascular neurosurgery, especially keyhole aneurysm surgery, which he has presented to the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies. He is the Chair of the West Midlands Strategic Clinical Network (Cancer) neuro-oncology section, and the Training Programme Director for Neurosurgery in the West Midlands.
