Cancer patients receive more expert information

New information points for cancer patients have been set up at Royal Stoke and County Hospital. The stands, provided by the research and care charity Breast Cancer Now, will contain a wide range of the charity's award-winning publications about breast health and breast cancer, such as information about breast pain, understanding pathology results and information on support services. All publications are free for visitors and patients to select and take away to read in their own time.

Helen Francis, Breast Advanced Nurse Practitioner, said: "We're really pleased to have the new stands available for patients. It's absolutely essential that people receive accurate and pertinent information, especially at challenging times, and of course anything we can provide to make their journey that bit easier is very welcome."

Dee Ellis, Project Coordinator at Breast Cancer Now, said: "When people are referred to hospital with a possible breast symptom or receive a diagnosis of breast cancer it can be overwhelming and there is a lot to take in. People can feel lost and not sure where to turn when they get home. It's fantastic that we can provide vital information to even more people when they need it most."

A special 'Thank you' goes to players of the People's Postcode Lottery, who have helped to fund the stands.
