Recovered Covid-19 patient sends special 'Thank you' message to staff

One of the first patients to be discharged after testing positive for Covid-19 has sent our staff a special ‘thank you’ message.

48-year-old chef Jason Grant, from Hanley, was diagnosed after presenting with a cough, aches and pains. He was discharged after spending time on Ward 117 and in Critical Care.

Jason said: “I’m feeling loads better now and quite emotional.  This has been the scariest moment of my life, but all the staff have been amazing. I’ve always admired the NHS. The staff are outstanding and when I was still in hospital I sat clapping along with everyone else from my bed. I just want to thank everyone.”

Jill Bogucki, Matron in Critical Care, said: “It’s great to see Jason leaving critical care feeling well. It has lifted the spirits of the staff and gives people hope that it is possible to recover.”
