Dr John Jerstice graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 1990. He then went on to work across central Scotland in orthopaedic surgery and Obs and Gynae. Starting his career in anaesthesia in Edinburgh, he then moved to Middlesbrough and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He spent approximately two years at the Freeman hospital as Clinical Fellow in Cardio-thoracic anaesthesia (paediatric, adult and transplant) before taking up his consultant post in Stoke-on-Trent. His areas of expertise include cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiac ITU and orthopaedic surgery including spines. His areas of interest are trans-oesophageal echo, regional anaesthesia and spinal surgery.
