The quickest way to access the service is via the free Consultant Connect App, where you can make calls, take photos and send messages. You can download the Consultant Connect App by scanning the QR code below or by searching ‘Consultant Connect’ on Google Play or the App Store.

Once logged in, you can view your available telephone and messaging specialties. For more information about your Consultant Connect service, please see the Primary Care User Guide. 

 

Accessing Consultant Connect in your browser allows you to review and download your Consultant Connect activity, including your call recordings, messaging interactions and photos taken or uploaded. You can also leave outcomes and add patient NHS numbers to call activity retrospectively. If you struggle with phone signal, here you can also make calls and send messages for advice via your desktop. Sign up or log in now to see your available specialties.

You can make calls for advice at any time from any phone using your organisation’s unique Dial-In Number. Your Service Directory lists your available telephone specialties and their operating hours. Enter your unique Dial-In Number here to access your Service Directory. If you don’t know your Dial-In Number, please contact your Consultant Connect Account Management Team using the details below.

You can use the IG-secure PhotoSAF feature on the Consultant Connect App to take, store, and share images directly to specialist clinicians for pre-referral advice. Photos are saved to the secure cloud and never stored on devices. This service is ideal for:

  • Face-to-face consultations – a built-in patient consent step is included, removing the need for additional paperwork.
  • Taking multiple images to record the history/changes of a condition over time.

Consultant Connect is CPD accredited, meaning that learning time is recorded, and primary care clinicians automatically earn CPD credits when their use of Enhanced Advice & Guidance meets the eligibility criteria.

Enhanced Advice & Guidance integrates with primary care patient records, saving you time and resources. When a valid NHS number is input and an outcome is left, following a call or message, if your practice administrator ‘accepts’ the PDF, Consultant Connect activity will appear in the patient’s record with a time and date stamp.
