Critical Incident Stood Down (22 January 2025)
We have this morning (22 January 2025) stood down our Critical Incident which was declared yesterday afternoon.
Thanks to the swift actions of our teams we were able to quickly manage the demand on our emergency and urgent care services at Royal Stoke.
We are still experiencing winter pressures, as you would expect for this time of year, and therefore continue to ask the public to help us by only using A&E in a serious or life-threatening emergency that needs immediate medical attention, such as chest pain, loss of consciousness, acute confusion, severe blood loss, serious burns, broken bones, suspected stroke. For other conditions, Walk-in centres, GPs, Pharmacies and NHS 111 will be able to offer expert advice – often quicker and closer to home.
