Estates, Facilities and PFI team receive CEO award
The Estates, Facilities and PFI Division from University Hospitals of North Midlands have been recognised with a CEO award for their work on the delivery of a new respiratory care ward.
The team took handover of Ward 128 on Friday 20 January, working hard to transform the environment, to a state-of-the-art 24 bed inpatient respiratory ward, enabling the hospital to admit patients requiring advanced care for cystic fibrosis, COPD and asthma, two days later.
A number of ward moves took place in addition to the ward delivery, following extremely challenging planned timeframes. The team were critical in responding to significant Trust pressures and supporting the delivery of safe and timely care for patients.
Ann-Marie Riley, UHNM Chief Nurse, who nominated the team said: “I cannot thank our Estates, Facilities and PFI Division colleagues enough for their amazing support in delivering Ward 128 and the programme of moves that followed.
“Staff went above and beyond in so many different ways and I witnessed first-hand the most amazing examples of teamwork, commitment and dedication at its very best. The teams worked incredibly well under the increased pressure and took real pride in what they were achieving.”
Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive said: “The team have certainly raised the bar and set the template for ward developments in the future. It’s been a long time in the making and everyone has done a fantastic job from designing, to delivery and making sure it was ready for patients. I am really happy to present the team with a CEO award, to recognise those efforts.”
