Introducing UHNM’s patient safety partners
World Patient Safety Day 2023 was dedicated to engaging patients for patient safety and UHNM has appointed three Patient Safety Partners to help provide a voice for our patients when managing incidents.
Jill Mountford, Lydia Hall Marie France N’Lemvo will work in their volunteer roles to help elevate the voice of patients to improve safety. They will review data surrounding patient safety and the overall experience and involvement in patient safety improvement projects. The team will also advocate for patient voices by improving patient and family involvement.
Jill said: “My new and exciting venture is as a Patient Safety Partner volunteer at Royal Stoke. I am not only looking forward to listening and talking with patients and their families and colleagues, but also working together as a team to enhance patient safety.”
Marie said: “I am a patient safety champion because I am passionate about public health promotion and patients receiving quality care; I believe that community involvement is at the foundation of good healthcare. My role allows me to represent my community and advocate for all patients. I have learnt that patient safety and a quality patient experience are at the heart of the trust. I have gained insight into the various projects and efforts across wards to tackle and improve patient safety. I am proud to be a partner of this trust and I am excited to see the development of this role and many other efforts to champion patient safety and experience.”
