“Outstanding” Receipts and Distribution Centre awarded Team of the Month
County Hospital’s Supplies and Procurement Department has been praised for helping to support clinical colleagues during the busy winter months.
The Receipts and Distribution Centre (RDC) has been named UHNM’s Team of the Month. They were presented with their certificate by Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive.
Staff from the RDC were described as “outstanding” and going “above and beyond” by ward manager Claire Lyons who nominated the team for the award.
Claire said: “The RDC has been pivotal in the safe and effective opening of Ward 7. Since we opened the winter escalation ward at County hospital, the RDC has been outstanding in their support of myself and the ward. As the department was opened with short notice, the team have gone above and beyond to ensure that it has been adequately supplied to ensure patient safety and comfort.
“They understand that requests are often needed quickly and have gone out of their way to ensure they can help and support as much as they can. The whole team have regularly attended the ward to check if we need further supplies, to ensure we have not gone short since opening. They have helped source any outstanding essential equipment for the ward, keeping us regularly updated, and always with a smile on their faces and never a complaint.
Laura Singleton, procurement operations manager at County Hospital added: “The team has done amazingly well, and this is a thoroughly deserved award for all their hard work not only with Ward 7, but all wards and departments at County. They don’t always get the recognition they deserve, but they continue to do an essential job for the benefit of both patients and staff.”
