UHNM Celebrates Armed Forces Week by hosting Armed Forces Community Gatherings
As part of the UHNM Armed Forces Week celebrations, UHNM was delighted to host Armed Forces Community gatherings at both Royal Stoke and County Hospitals to thank both UHNM Armed Forces Community members and local Veteran Support Groups for their dedication and continued support to helping our Armed Forces Community members.
The events were well attended, with representation from the Tri Services Veteran Support Centre, The Royal British Legion (Stafford branch), Stafford Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, the Armed Forces Community Network CIC (Stafford) and family members from MOD Stafford.
David Smith, Transformation project Manager and Armed Forces Champion at UHNM said: "UHNM is a great supporter of the UK Armed Forces, and every year during Armed Forces Week, we host a series of events to show our support and appreciation to our Armed Forces community members.
"The events provided a fantastic opportunity to bring our local veteran services and their members together in an environment where they can share banter and reminisce their experiences in the armed forces.
"Through these engagement sessions, we were also able to reinforce awareness of the bespoke Armed Forces support services and charities available to provide support (if needed), along with our hospital Veteran Aware processes we have in place to support them."
A big thank you goes out to Nightingales Restaurant at County Hospital for their help and support with catering requirements and to the Services United Supporting Armed Forces (SUSAF) charity for their generosity to fund the event.
