A consultant from University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) has been appointed as Endoscopy Quality Improvement Lead at the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG).

"I have been involved in quite a lot of quality improvement projects in the Trust, as well as nationally. Apart from the UHNM endoscopy lead role for six years, I was also the BSG endoscopy secretary during Covid time. I have also been involved in improving the quality of ERCP training locally. nationally and Internationally. ERCP is a complex procedure and difficult to teach."

"Working at UHNM has been a great privilege.  You can achieve things like this only through collaboration and support from the team and the trust. Any drive to improve quality or introduce new services has been well supported. As long as you have vision, enthusiasm and interest to bring about a change, there is always support here."
