UHNM Critical Incident: Stood Down

UHNM has now stood down from Critical Incident.

With our NHS and social care across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System, we have taken a number of actions to de-escalate the pressures on our services at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital and while we remain busy our position has now improved.

We recognise the huge efforts made by colleagues throughout this period and thank them for their continued hard work.

Cases of norovirus and flu continue to increase in the community and the public can help us manage these periods of demand by ensuring they stay hydrated, keep warm and are seeking help from the most appropriate health services, and only attending A&E for serious accidents and emergencies.

If you are unwell, visit NHS 111 online for 24/7 advice about the most appropriate care for your need.

We would also ask visitors to avoid coming into hospital if they have symptoms of flu or diarrhoea and vomiting.
