UHNM Employee of the Month: Dominic Davenport
A Senior Estates Manager whose work normally goes “under the radar” has been awarded UHNM’s Employee of the Month.
Dominic Davenport helped staff from the Royal Stoke University Hospital’s Central Treatment Suite (CTS) to install new decontamination machines, helping patients to benefit from faster diagnostic testing.
He was nominated for the award by Phyllis Dunn, Clinical Lead Nurse.
Phyllis said: “Dominic has provided a most diligent and professional approach in assisting us to install the new decontamination machines in CTS. During the two-month time frame, he went above and beyond his work schedule to ensure the safe transition and transformation of the machines.
“He worked with us to ensure there was minimal disruption to our service, enabling us to achieve cancer targets in diagnostics under the most difficult of circumstances. When problems arose, we worked with him to achieve very positive outcomes.
“What we have now are the most up-to-date decontamination technology, enabling our patients to benefit from faster diagnostic testing.
“I nominated Dominic as I feel our Estates and Facilities Teams don’t always get the recognition they deserve. He’s not just doing amazing work for us in CTS, it’s across the whole of UHNM. He goes under the radar, he just goes and fixes it. We can’t do our jobs without the support of Dominic and the Estates Team.
Dominic was presented with his award by Dave Ruscoe, Deputy Director of Estates, Facilities and PFI at UHNM.
Dave said: “It’s an outstanding achievement for Dominic. We like to fly under the radar, if our work doesn’t affect patients and they don’t know what we’ve done, then it means we’re doing a good job.
“We’re a support function for UHNM, helping to make sure our patients and clinical colleagues have the best possible technology and environment.”
