UHNM helps inspire next generation of healthcare professionals at careers event
Colleagues from across UHNM have come together to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The Learning and Development Team were joined by staff from across our divisions in attending a careers event at Adams Grammar School in Newport, Shropshire.
The event, which coincided with National Careers week last week, saw Year 11-13 students learn about different aspects of healthcare system.
Dr Stephen Merron Consultant Anaesthetist said: “I would like convey my huge gratitude to colleagues from across UHNM for coming to support this event and helping to inspire young minds in our communities. They were all excellent ambassadors for UHNM and I was really proud to stand along side them and listen to the ways they enthused the students in different aspects of our healthcare system.”
Sonya Wilson from Adams Grammar School added: “Thank you to the team from UHNM for their wonderful contribution to our event. It was so powerful for our pupils to have the opportunity to hear from such a diverse range of staff representing their area of specialism with such enthusiasm and expertise. We send many pupils onto medical school each year, and as somebody who spent ten days in Royal Stoke in 2020 after breaking my ankle, I came across numerous former pupils which I think reflects the contributions our pupils go on to make within our local NHS providers.”
