UHNM patients access digital appointment letters on line

Patients from University Hospitals of North Midlands are now able to access digital letters from the Trust’s online personal health record system.

Patients Know Best or PKB brings together patient information from the Trust and the patient's own recorded data into one secure health record, helping to deliver high-quality, integrated care while also giving patients the opportunity to better manage their health at home or wherever they may be.

From 5 June, those already registered (or registering) for PKB will receive some of their letters digitally within the portal. This is the next phase in the programme which will see patients eventually being able to access their entire medical history, view test results and book appointments – all in one place.

Details about previous inpatient and outpatient appointments along with any Emergency Department visits within the last two years were made accessible via the portal at the start of the year and now appointment letters can also be read. Other letters including hospital discharge, ED discharge and other clinical correspondence as well as pathology and radiology results are planned for later in the year.

More information about the benefits of PKB and how to sign up is available on UHNM website https://www.uhnm.nhs.uk/our-services/patients-know-best/
