UHNM shortlisted for HSJ Partnership Award
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for a HSJ Partnership Award in recognition of work to reduce diagnostic waiting times for endoscopy patients.
In August 2024 UHNM opened a new seven-day service screening service at County Hospital, Stafford, with the aim of clearing the overdue waiting list for planned and surveillance procedures.
And now the service, which operates out of a mobile endoscopy unit based at the hospital until Spring, has been shortlisted for ‘Best Elective Care Recovery Initiative’ at the HSJ Partnership Awards alongside partner providers EMS Healthcare and Medinet.
The unit, made possible thanks to NHS England funding, screens up to 750 patients a month on a range of specialities.
Kathryn Kelter, Head of Operations for Planned Care at UHNM said “I am thrilled that our hardworking and deserving endoscopy teams have been shortlisted for a HSJ Partnership Award.
“The NHS England funding and partnership approach has enabled UHNM to improve and expand on our endoscopy services, with early detection and diagnosis vitally important to give our patients the best possible outcomes. The mobile unit is helping us to offer quicker screening access to thousands of patients, improving their quality of life whilst reducing waiting lists.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on Friday 20 March 2025.
