UHNM ‘wins gold’ for supporting the Armed Forces Community
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is delighted to announce the successful revalidation of its Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) ‘gold award’ for a further five years.
The gold award, which is the scheme's highest award, recognises organisations who go above and beyond to provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community.
To achieve gold recognition, UHNM provided evidence demonstrating how as an employer, it supports employees and their families who currently serve or who have previously served in the UK Armed Forces.
David Smith, Transformation Project Manager and Armed Forces Champion at UHNM, said: “This is fantastic news and is testament to the hard work and continued support that our Armed Forces Champions and Recruitment Team at UHNM have dedicated to supporting the Armed Forces Community. UHNM recognises the key skills and values that the Armed Forces Community possess and there are various clinical and non-clinical roles that the Armed Forces Community can easily transition into that are essential to supporting our services. Our Guaranteed Interview Scheme has been extremely positive in helping to support the Armed Forces Community into employment.
UHNM also has Veteran Aware Accreditation and is a member of the Armed Forces Covenant.
