Rachel is a registered adult nurse qualifying in 2013; her clinical experience is within acute medicine and critical care. Rachel has previously worked in Nottingham as the Lead for quality and professional regulation and within the Shared Governance team providing structural autonomy. Joining UHNM in 2021 Rachel was the Clinical Research Matron before commencing in the role of CeNREE Programme Lead.
Rachel is currently completing a Masters in Research Methods (MARM) at the University of Nottingham and has a passion for embedding research into everyday clinical practice by encouraging an enquiring mindset amongst professionally registered staff. With the experience of working in two of the largest teaching hospitals outside of London she enjoys finding innovative ways of developing and supporting staff career development. Rachel’s focus is on high quality patient care through the engagement and professional autonomy of patient facing staff, seeing the potential in everyone, and focusing on individual’s strengths.
Leading the development of the first Chief Nurse Fellowship Programme Rachel is focused on expanding these internal fellowship opportunities for staff and supporting the implementation of legacy mentors within the trust, to retain the expansive knowledge of our highly experienced staff. As an experienced mentor and coach Rachel is well placed to support any career conversations or specific questions about personal development and opportunities both internally and externally for UHNM staff.
