4ml clotted blood (1ml if paediatric), red top, State time of last dose and time of sample

Turnaround Time: 1-2 days

Assay to determine level of amikacin in serum for therapeutic monitoring

Other Comments:

If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 24 hours are undesirable
