Tissue/biopsy, Sterile container. Please note that fixed samples are more difficult to process by nucleic acid extraction procedures and may give false negative or inhibitory results

Turnaround Time:

7-10 days

Bartonella species bacteria cause several diseases in humans. Serology testing and Bartonella specific PCR is not currently available. 16S RNA testing may be performed on tissues and biopsies - please discuss with consultant microbiologist before sending samples.

Other Comments:

If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 48 hours are undesirable
