Requirement:

conjunctival (eye) swab ,

COBAS transport medium OR remel tube MR4 media (red topped, pink liquid),

(Do Not refrigerate - store at room temperature)

 

Turnaround Time:

1-5 days - contact laboratory if urgent

Nucleic acid amplification test for detection of Chlamydia trachomatis in clinical samples

Note: samples are tested for both Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis in combination.

Other Comments:

If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 48 hours are undesirable
