Blood - EDTA sample (purple top)

Tissue/heart valve - Sterile leakproof CE marked container (no additives)

PCR can be performed on wax embedded tissue

 

Turnaround Time: 1-3 weeks

PCR for the detection of entroviruses in tissue, heart valve, EDTA blood or serum

Other Comments:

If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 48 hours are undesirable
