Diagnosis of acute (on-going) or recent flavivirus infection can be established by testing serum samples during the first 5 days of symptoms and/or early convalescent phase (more than 5 days of symptoms).
Other Comments:
If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 48 hours are undesirable
