Department: Haematology Requirement: EDTA (purple tube)
Turnaround Time: Within 24 hours if non-urgent. |
Hb, white cell count (including differential), platelets and associated indices.
Used as a first line screening test, particularly for the diagnosis of anaemia, infection, leukaemia.
Blood film will be added by laboratory if deemed necessary.
Please supply clinical details as this greatly assists laboratory staff in interpreting results.
