Department: Haematology Requirement: COAGULATION TUBES MUST BE FILLED TO LINE. Samples more than 24 hours old cannot be accepted. INR can be added to a previous sample if less than 24 hours old.

International Normalised Ratio, used as a monitoring test for patients taking warfarin and similar. Part of the basic coagulation screen (with APTT).
Other Comments:
Reference range: 0.8-1.2 for patients not taking oral anticoagulants.
