Requirement:

Site specific swab in chlamydia transport medium

Testing for LGV is performed by specific request only from samples known to be positive for Chlamydia trachomatis

 

Turnaround Time:

3-10 days

Detection of strains of  Chlamydia trachomatis causing Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV)

Other Comments:

Specimen transport: Transport to laboratory as soon as possible.

Referred to Sexually Transmitted Diseases Reference Laboratory, Colindale.
