Culture for common pathogens including Candida species (thrush)

NB state if culture for Neisseria gonorrhoeae required

Other Comments:

Collection container: Swab in amies charcoal media

NB If herpes simplex suspected please send swab in Remel MR4 medium

Specimen transport: Transport to laboratory as soon as possible. If delay in transportation, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature
