Department: Haematology Requirement: Peritoneal dialysis fluid in EDTA (purple tube).
Turnaround Time: 72 hours |
For the diagnosis of peritonitis in renal patients receiving peritoneal dialysis.
Other Comments:
Testing is carried out during routine laboratory hours (09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday).
Following the total cell count, a white cell differential will be performed if appropriate.
NB The PD fluid count test is not included within the scope of the Haematology Department's UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation.
