Extended typing of red cell antigens.
Other Comments:
Whilst ABO and RhD are the major antigens there are numerous other antigens which may need to be matched when providing blood for transfusion.
This tests ensure these antigens are identitifed when necessary i.e. when patient has already developed red cell antibodies or is at high risk of doing so.
