4ml clotted blood (1ml if paediatric)

Turnaround Time:

7-10 days

Serological diagnosis of schistosomal infection by antibody detection

Provide history of foreign residency or travel dates and specific areas visited.

Other Comments:

If processing is delayed, refrigeration is preferable to storage at ambient temperature. Delays of over 24 hours are undesirable
